The second ODI match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be played between the ICC T20 Champions India and Bangladesh on February 20, 2025. India and Bangladesh are placed in group A, New Zealand, and the host country, Pakistan. This match is scheduled to be played at The Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

In the 1st game of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, New Zealand beat Pakistan comprehensively last night. The Champions Trophy format of the group stage matches provides each time a rare chance for mistakes. Each team has to play three games in the group stage, if any team loses a match they will almost find themselves at the edge of elimination. So, this match holds a lot of importance for both teams. India will likely want to continue their recent winning momentum and start the event with a win. But on the other hand, Bangladesh can't be written out of the contest as they are a very competitive side in limited-overs cricket.

So, We are expecting a cracker of a game in our hands. In this article, we will discuss both teams, their head-to-head records, recent history, strengths and weaknesses, and Match prediction.

Team News and playing 11's

The biggest miss for Team India will be their star pacer Jasprit Bumrah who is out of the tournament due to a back injury. Except for Bumrah, They will come into the match with their full strength. Virat Kohli and Muhammad Shami who were sidelined due to injuries will be back to the playing 11. India has surprisingly picked only 3 pacers along with Hardik Pandya along 5 spinners so, it means they have a set plan for this event and they will rely on their spin strength. We are expecting them to go with 3 front-line spinners along with Arshdeep Singh, and Muhammad Shami.

Bangladesh Shakib Al Hassan is not available for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 because he could not clear his bowling action which was reported recently. Their batting will depend a lot on their captain Najmul Hassan Shanto, Tohid Hiridoy, and Mahmudullah. In the bowling, they will have the likes of Mustafizur Rehman, Taskin, and Nahid Rana along with spinner Mehdi Hassan Miraz.

Head to Head

Bangladesh and India came against each other 41 times in ODI's, India won 32 whereas Bangladesh won 8 times. Their recent encounter was in The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 where India won the match by 7 wickets on the back of Virat Kohli's ton.

Recent ODI performances

Recent performances of both teams in the ODI show that India is in great form they have won the series against England 3-0. Whereas Bangladesh lost the recent ODI series 3-0 to West Indies.

India is one of the best teams in the world right now so, they will enter this event and contest as strong favorites. They have top-quality white ball players who are still in great form like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and Ravindra Jadeja.
